Description
Captured by award winning photographer Joan Davis in the spring of 2013 during the Great American Horse Drive. The Sombrero Ranch Horse Drive has been a tradition for over 40 years as up to 600 horses are driven by cowboys and cowgirls from their winter pasture to their summer home. This image was captured on the final day of the drive where the horses and cowboys have covered over 50 miles starting on the open range of Colorado and traveling through the dusty back roads. You can see fatigue in the cowboys face as the horses move beside and behind him.
